Scholarship Description
Anglia Ruskin University is happy to offer a number of scholarships for international students, one of which is the International Excellence Scholarship (undergraduate and postgraduate).

This International Excellence Scholarship is available to full-time students studying a bachelor or postgraduate taught level qualification for a duration of 3 years or equivalent time taken to complete the qualification (foundation and extended degrees are exempt).

Please note this International Excellence Scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships or the £1,000 early payment discount. Up to 30 awards of £4000 will be awarded towards the first year of full time study (undergraduate and postgraduate taught).

Eligibility
Academic qualifications:
  • Students applying for an undergraduate award should have achieved ABB grades or above at A-level (or international equivalent qualification).
  • Students applying for a postgraduate award should hold a 2:1 degree qualification (or equivalent international qualification).
Selection criteria:
As well as looking at academic excellence, we’re interested in why you want to study at ARU, your career goals, work experience, and relevant activities you take part in outside of your studies (extra curricula activity). We’ll ask you to complete an application which will include a supporting statement when you apply for the scholarship.

Students achieving the equivalent to a minimum of three A levels at B for Undergraduate courses or above or a 2:1 or above for Postgraduate courses will be considered. Your motivation to study at ARU and relevant extra curricula activity or work experience will be assessed. This will be assessed from your personal statement. 

DEADLINES:
The deadline for applications is 13 July 2018 for September 2018 starts, or 30 November 2018 for January 2019 starts

PLEASE NOTE:
Students achieving this award will be notified no later than the 31 July 2017. The awardees will be selected at the discretion of the International Admissions Team. Please also note that this scholarship can not be combined with any other scholarships or early payment discounts.

Newcastle University is pleased to offer the Vice Chancellor's International Scholarships for international students who intend to start and pursue their studies at Newcastle.

Newcastle University offers these partial scholarship awards to encourage applicants assessed as international for fees purposes to undertake Undergraduate and Master’s level study. Each award is worth £3,000 for one year payable to the student’s tuition fee account.

The University will consider each individual application and allocate scholarships based on its strategic and diversity priorities. All eligible intending applicants are encouraged to apply for the Vice Chancellor's International Scholarships by following the procedure laid down on this page.


Newcastle University Vice Chancellor's International Scholarships

Eligibility
Applicants can only apply and be considered for a Vice-Chancellor’s International scholarship after they have been offered a place to study on their chosen degree course and have been assessed as international for fees purposes. They must also be:
  • registered at Newcastle University for the 2017/18 academic year.
  • registered for one of the following eligible courses:
Undergraduate - All undergraduate degrees including integrated Masters
Masters - MA; MArch; MBA; MClinDent; MClinRes; MEd; MFA; MMedEd; LLM; LLM (by research); MLitt; MMus; MPH; MRes; MSc
  • wholly or partially self-financing
  • defined as ‘international’ for fee purposes
  • registered to study at Newcastle University city centre campus
  • students new to the University and not those transferring or repeating courses.
Applicants should note that the following students are not eligible to receive Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships:
  • UK or EU students assessed as ‘home’ for fee purposes.
  • MPhil, doctoral (eg,PhD, Integrated PhD, EngD, DClinPych), Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Newcastle University intercalating students or placement, study abroad or exchange students. MSc Hydroinfomatics and Water Management (Euro Aquae) students are not eligible for this award.
  • holders of fully-funded scholarships (full payment of fees and living expenses) such as Chevening Scholarships, Commonwealth Scholarships or other fully sponsored awards.
  • students in receipt of India Great Scholarships or Santander Scholarships
  • pathway students progressing to the University from INTO Newcastle
  • current students, registered in 2016/17 or earlier, who have already commenced Undergraduate or Masters’ studies at the time of award: awards cannot be made retrospectively
  • applicants initially assessed as international for fee purposes but whose fees change to ‘home’.

Newcastle University (Officially, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne) is a public research university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North-East of England. Scholarship Description
The University of Edinburgh offers the Principals Career Development PhD scholarships for students starting their PhD research at the University in the current academic session.

In order to attract the best and brightest PhD students, the University seeks to offer not only unparalleled research facilities and superb supervision, but also to provide development opportunities which will support research students as they progress beyond their PhD, through an innovative programme of integrated research, training, and career development.

This exciting scholarship scheme provides a valuable opportunity for postgraduate research students to undertake a package of training and development which will help them to develop the necessary skills required to meet their career choices and offer them a breadth of development opportunities in areas such as teaching, public engagement, entrepreneurship, data science, and research.

Scholars will usually focus on one career development area.

Eligibility
The awards are open to UKEU and overseas students applying to start their first year of study for a research degree in 2017-2018. Award applicants should contact the School with whom they intend to study before applying for the award to ascertain whether the funding is available for the discipline involved.

Applicants intending to study within the School of Engineering, the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures or the School of Law are not eligible for this award.

Applicants must have already applied for admission to a full-time PhD research programme of study at the University. Applicants intending to study a part-time PhD research programme will only be considered for the scholarship if they have the approval of the School they wish to study with.

Candidates are required to have good English Language skills with scholarship applicants normally requiring a minimum IELTS of 7.0 achieved within the past two years. Please check the Entry Requirements for your proposed programme of study for details of other acceptable English language qualifications. The requirement for an IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) may be higher than the level required for admissions purposes.

You may apply for the scholarship prior to obtaining the necessary English language test results but the results should be uploaded as soon as possible.

Please also note that if you have applied for consecutive registration where you will start your Master's programme of study in 2017 and your PhD the following year in 2018, that you will not be eligible to apply for a Principal's Career Development Scholarship in 2017. Principal's awards cannot be held concurrently with fully-funded scholarships but can be held with partial awards such as the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships.

Selection Criteria:
Applicants must be of outstanding academic merit and research potential. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.

Other factors such as financial status, nationality and the proposed field of study are not taken into account.

The University will not generally consider candidates who have already obtained a PhD, or formal equivalent, as a result of direct research training.

Every year, the University of Edinburgh offers a number of scholarships for undergraduate study, with each award being tenable for the duration of the programme of study.

The Edinburgh Global Undergraduate Maths Scholarships are offered to Mathematics students of outstanding ability from countries outside the European Union for the academic session 2017-2018.

The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Qualified applicants are invited to apply to the Edinburgh Global Undergraduate Maths Scholarships.

Eligibility
It is awarded to applicants from countries outside the European Union who are accepted for full-time admission to an undergraduate degree programme offered by the School of Mathematics at the University.

The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.

Applicants should have applied through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) and been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh by the scholarship closing date of 3 April 2017.

If a student does not make satisfactory progress in any one year the award will terminate from that point onwards.

Scholarship Description
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) has established the Jeroen Ensink Memorial Fund Scholarship in honor of Jeroen Ensink.

The Jeroen Ensink Memorial scholarship is offered to support students from sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia who are committed to improving public health in developing countries and wish to undertake the MSc Public Health for Development course.

Applications for this scholarship to the 2017-18 MSc Public Health for Development course is announced, and eligible applicants are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship under this fund, applicants must:
  • have been accepted onto the 2017-18 MSc Public Health for Development course; and
  • be a citizen of one of the below-listed sub-Saharan African or South Asian countries.
Preference will be given to those applicants with experience and/or interest in the area of water, sanitation, hygiene and public health.

Applicants must meet the School’s minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements if shortlisted for this funding.

Selection Criteria:
Applicants must submit a statement of motivation with their scholarship application to be considered for this funding, even though they may have already submitted a statement with their application for admission. You may choose to tailor this statement for the funding (and therefore submit something different to your standard MSc course application statement).

Your application for this scholarship award may be considered alongside the documents you have submitted for your application to the MSc Public Health for Development course.

  • a tax free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 16,500.00.

Applicants should follow both steps outlined before the scholarship deadline: i). Submit an application for study for the MSc Public Health for Development, via the School’s Admissions portal; AND ii). Submit a Scholarship Application, via the School’s Scholarship Application portal, indicating that you are applying for the Jeroen Ensink Memorial Fund Scholarship

The MSc Public Health for Development Course Directors will assess all applications for suitability for the course. Successful applications (i.e. those with applicants who will be made an offer of admission) will be considered for the Scholarship. Incomplete applications will not be considered for this funding.

PLEASE NOTE:
